İzmir’s three fashion-shaping fairs were introduced
Soyer: “We are ready to achieve extraordinary success”
The IF Wedding Fashion İzmir, Fashion Prime and Fashion Tech fairs to be held by İZFAŞ and hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality were introduced in the historical Çukur Han (Inn). Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer said, “Be sure, we are ready to achieve extraordinary success. Because we trust İzmir and the people of İzmir. We will continue to grow the sector and introduce you to the international arenas until the end.”
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality continues to work in line with Mayor Tunç Soyer’s vision of transforming İzmir into a city of fairs. IF Wedding Fashion İzmir-“16. The 5th Fashion Prime İzmir-“Textile, Ready-to-Wear Suppliers and Technologies Fair” and the 2nd Fashion Tech İzmir-“Ready-to-Wear, Apparel and Textile Machinery, Textiles Fair” will be held simultaneously with the “Wedding, Suit and Evening Dress Fair” on 12-15 October. The presentation of the “Printing Technologies Fair” was held in Çukur Han.The presentation, hosted by Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer, was attended by İzmir Chamber of Commerce Vice Chairman Emre Kızılgüneşler, Aegean Region Chamber of Industry Vice Chairman Muhsin Dönmez, Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters’ Association Chairman Burak Sertbaş, Aegean Clothing Industrialists Association Chairman of the Board, Hayati Ertuğrul, Vice Chairman of the Turkish Fashion and Apparel Federation, Abdullah Salkım, Chairman of the Fashion Textile Confectioners Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association, İzzet Avcı, the Chairman of the Mimar Kemalettin Fashion Center Association, Canan Karaosmanoğlu, the General Manager of İZFAŞ and press representatives.
Soyer: “We are ready to achieve extraordinary success”
Mayor Tunç Soyer stated that the fairs are vital for İzmir and said, “There are three main reasons; First, the fair itself stimulates the city’s economy. Secondly, sector representatives meet with each other at fairs and get inspired, learn, see, hear and listen. Third, the fair offers extraordinary opportunities in terms of marketing. If the fair is international and brings together representatives from other countries of the world, it allows new brands to be born.” Emphasizing that 100 years ago, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk opened the National Sample Exhibition after holding the İzmir Economy Congress, Mayor Soyer said, “After that, İzmir started to become a city of Fairs. Our founding leader saw 100 years ago that since İzmir is a port city, it should host fairs. It’s our job to raise the bar. We are hosting 34 fairs this year in İzmir, where 10-11 fairs were held annually until 2019. Rest assured, we are ready to achieve extraordinary achievements. Because we trust İzmir and the people of İzmir. We will continue to grow the sector and introduce you to the international arenas until the end.” Mayor Soyer also said that they will start the restoration at Mimar Kemalettin Fashion Center.

İzzet Avcı, Chairman of the Board of the Mimar Kemalettin Fashion Center Association, thanked those who contributed to the fairs. Abdullah Salkım, Chairman of the Fashion Textile Confectioners Industrialists and Businessmen Association, said, “For many years, we have witnessed the IF Wedding Fashion İzmir becoming a world brand. It shaped the industry,” he said. Hayati Ertuğrul, Chairman of the Board of the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association and Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Fashion and Ready-to-Wear Federation, said, “Fairs are important meeting points for opening up to new markets. It adds value to our city and our industry.” Burak Sertbaş, Chairman of the Board of Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters’ Association, emphasized the importance of fairs for exporters. Muhsin Dönmez, Vice Chairman of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry, said, “I would like to thank our mayor and İZFAŞ for their efforts in fairs that will blow the wind of fashion and add value to our economy.” Emre Kızılgüneşler, Vice Chairman of the İzmir Chamber of Commerce, stated that they are behind all the fairs held in İzmir and that they increase their support as the number of fairs increases.
